2027 decision calendar sets timing for rate-policy updates
The Bank of Canada published the timetable for its 2027 policy interest rate announcements on July 27, 2026. The calendar contains eight decision dates: January 27, March 3, April 28, June 2, July 21, September 8, October 27 and December 8.
All eight announcements are scheduled for 09:45 ET. For businesses with borrowing arrangements linked to changing interest rates, the calendar identifies the dates when the central bank is scheduled to communicate its policy-rate decision. It does not indicate what any future decision will be.
Four of the 2027 decision dates—January 27, April 28, July 21 and October 27—will also carry the release of the Bank’s Monetary Policy Report. Those reports are scheduled to be issued at the same time as the corresponding rate announcements.
Remaining 2026 dates are reaffirmed
Alongside the new 2027 timetable, the Bank reconfirmed three policy-rate announcement dates still scheduled in 2026: September 2, October 28 and December 9. These announcements are likewise set for 09:45 ET.
The reaffirmation provides a stated timetable for the remaining policy communications this year. Businesses monitoring financing conditions can distinguish those three 2026 dates from the separate eight-date schedule established for 2027.
Survey and stability-report releases add scheduled reference points
The Bank’s 2027 release dates for both the Business Outlook Survey and the Canadian Survey of Consumer Expectations are January 18, April 19, July 12 and October 18. Each of those releases is scheduled for 11:30 ET.
The Business Outlook Survey is included in the Bank’s published schedule alongside the policy announcements and consumer survey. For business borrowers, the timetable provides advance notice of when the central bank plans to publish these recurring survey materials, separate from its rate-decision dates.
The Bank also scheduled its 2027 Financial Stability Report for Tuesday, May 18, at 10:00 ET. The release falls between the April 28 and June 2 policy-rate announcement dates in the published calendar.
